update 3/3/16

update 3/3/16

Monday

Monday is my day off, But I went in to college to get some help on my essay. Just to point me in the wright direction to see if I was doing the wright thing. I did not what to wright pages and pages up to find out that it would be wrong. I had a talk with one of my tutors and we had a chat for about 10 minutes and this really help me a lot. Also it helped with what type of questions that I could put in to my essay.

When I got home I made a start on my essay with a direction to go in. My essay question is why are retro games coming back in to fashion. I think that this is a very go point that I made. We have such detailed games such as the new Hit Man game and the last of us remastered. Just for example but people still like the older type style games for example Under tail and shovel Knight.

Thursday

I was at college finishing off my chess piece model of one of my modules. I made some adjustments to my torso in Z-Brush and created a hat in cinema 4D. Also I had a group crit with the rest of the classmates. To talk about each other designs to get some feed back. To see were we can improve on and say why we made the design.

Wednesday
I went in to college and created a cigar and a moustache in Cinema 4D. Then when I got home I wrote more of my essay.

Friday
Today at college I had a lecture about my creating my own logo and business for the finial show at the end of term.

PPD UCAS/ Progression choices post- What are you doing after college?

What am I planning to do?

At the moment i am still at Newcastle college studding Game Design FD. I am currently doing my 2nd year of Foundation Degree and planning to stay for my 3rd year at Newcastle college. I have my spot of the 3rd year, My plan is to get my full Degree and graduate and then get a job in a games design company.

What type of job?

Over the last year i have enjoyed making 3D models such as Characters and Environments. The programs that i use is Mudbox for my characters. If i was going to make a concept idea for a character I may use Photoshop. This is to add colour and textures and bring the character more to life.
As for my environments I would use programs such as Cinema 4D and 3Ds Max. I have used Cinema 4D for few year and i think that this is one of the best programs to use if you were going to create a environment.

Dream Profession

I would like to be a 3D designer or a 2D designer for characters or a 3D environment designer.

PPD Week Update 26/2/16

PPD Week Update 26/2/16

Last Tuesday I had my first lesson in Z-Brush, This is a 3D program that I am going to use for my chess pace. In this lesson I got told how to use the program tools such as Sculpt, Move and Grab tools etc. I had to get an image of an face and try to create that face in the mold. This was a hard task at first because I was trying to find cirtin brushes..Over all I think that the lesson when well it was just to get to gips with the program. But most of the week i was ill so i did not do a whole lot of work. But I will catch up with the work flow soon.

Creative CV Design

I think that this creative CV is will thought out with the design. But the only suggestion that i have for the CV is that the artist has used pink for there headings and to some people it may be hard to read. But other than that small thing it has all the information you need in a CV. But i dnot think that the employer needs to know your Facebook details its best to have a business email.

This creative CV has great use of colour but not not much were by its to heavy on your eyes. I think that may favorite apart has to be the time line because it has a lot of information just by using a few icons and words.

PPD Environment project

This project was about environments, This was a continuation from the last project Character              design. This is my laboratory that I created in cinema 4D these are screenshots of different rooms.
I took some screenshots from the best angles of the environment for my final art pice.
I did not what just to take one screenshot because most of my environment would be wasted.

   What went well?
I realy enjoyed creating this environment the problem was that the project was very short. I sort of  hoped that the module was longer so that i could add so much detail in my work.

 What could I done better?
I would of create my environment much better. When i look back at my work like think that i could of done so much better. I would of added a roof and also made the time making lights as well.

Over all
I did enjoy this project over all and getting grips with cinema 4D again. Just the fact that the project was to short but that what happens.

PPD Game Simulation Project

This project has been a continuation from the environment project. I just continue on with my environment and improving the look by adding more rooms and making the level more interactive. When it comes to Unreal Engine this was the first time i have used this program It did take my a while to get the hang of it.

       What programmer I used?
I originally used cinema 4D  in my previous project, In the brief it said to use 3Ds max but i was        allowed  to use cinema 4D.  Also i was allowed to use my old work and improve on my                        environment. As for my simulation I used Unreal Engine and i could not ask of a better program          to use for my project.

       What did I enjoy?
I like the concept of creating and building my own environment. Also building a backstory                  around the environment this did help me to come up with a level design. In this project i had to            create my own textures for my environment i have not done to much practice with this. The task          was interesting to come up with my own textures this help to bring more life in the environment.
       What I did not enjoy?
I had a big problem with importing my environment from cinema 4D to Unreal Engine. When I          imported my environment to Unreal Engine some of my walls dispersed and turned into invisible        walls. So I had a bit of a task of trying to sort out that problem out.

PPD Character Design project

This is Adruis he is from the planet Sabin, He got kidnap in his home town Demi and got experimented on by a doctor called Dr Zintin. Dr Zintin kidnapped a normal person and turn him it to an ultimate weapon. Now he is unstoppable and will help Dr.Zintin talk over the world.

I used Mud Box for the modeling process, Then i rendered my model to Photoshop this is
were i coloured  Adruis and also add a filler textures to make the art work in to a comic book.

                What I enjoyed?

This has been my most favorite project up to date because i really like creating characters and in this project there was no theme that i had to stick with. So that could come up with anything that i wish. During this project everything went to plan and had no problem through out.
